LO3 Individual ideas and group

Task:
Mind Map/ synopsis generating individual IDEA
(this must be your own original idea which you pitch to your group)

Individual Idea

When we first started to decide what we want to base our documentary on I was thinking of doing something along the lines of girls wearing the ‘hijab’ (head covering). The reason why I decided to do a documentary based on this is because I myself am a girl who wears it and there have never really been cleared out to people why it is important in the religion Islam. Most people have respected the religious wear but however there are still very narrow minded people who haven’t yet still accepted it and think very bad of it. This is one of the main reasons why I would like to do this so it helps those people to not judge and respect others the way they choose to be.  While I watched other documentaries like "Make me a Muslim" and "Mum I'm a Muslim" they both gave me a good insight of the stereotypes that are targeted on new muslim girls as well as born Muslim girls.

Once I had told my group members Sonbul and Kadijo what I would like they also had linked their own ideas to mine which helped a lot because in that way we all got our say and we all got the chance to put together what we want to do

The targeted audience is mainly aimed at everyone as this is actually a documentary based to show what the Muslim girls are like and what they shouldn't be taken as or seen as by other religions or just people who don't understand Muslims girls and their way of acting.

The questions that will be asked are very simple and easy there just basic questions that don't need to much thinking about for example a few questions may be:

1) What do you think when you see a Muslim girl wearing the religious outfit ? And what do you think of the Muslim girls without the religious outfit ?

2) Do you think the Islamic clothing should be worn by all the Muslim girls ?

These questions will be asked to the people I interview. However I will be asking a mixture of people asking them different types of question ad making sure it becomes a balanced documentary and not a bias one.

My target audience is aimed to those who are suffering such situations and are not able to relate to anyone or anything.

This is the mood board I have created. These pictures and words link to what my documentary will be based around. The pictures i have used represent the Muslim girls in their religious wear. These pictures show different stories.

Sonbul's Idea

My idea
- Racism towards Muslims- This topic really interested me as I wanted to know why racism is happening towards muslims and what is the root cause of this matter. Why would people be so racist towards a large religious community and also i wanted to find out how being part of racism affect people daily life.

Questions
- How do you think muslims are portrayed in the media?
- What do you think is the root cause of this racism?
-What is multi-culturalism and how is it linked to racism?

The people that I would like to interview in this documentary would be :
- A racist person
- Representations  of ethnicity in the media
- People that have been effecte by racism

Looking at a few different types of racism based documentaries mean that this really took my interest and therefore i wanted to have more knowledge about thsi topic also the fact that the scholl that i am currently has a lot f Muslims wanted me to futher develope this topic and i was keen to interview peope and find out what people think about this topic.  Also i researched and w watched  some interview and documentaries about this matter and therefore looking at this persuaded and influenced me to think about this topics. one of the documentaries that i watched about racism was video below.
Watching this documentary really facinated me and therefore i wanted more knowlede on this topic.

Group idea

1. There are many different social factors that make more than it already is.

2. Different cultures, religions and ethnocities unite in the 21st centruy, but still keep mentalities that date back to the beginning of mankind.

3. We still maintain the basic beliefs and preconceptions of our overly prideful and headstrong ancestors.

4. But how can we claim to be so bright, modern and educated if thew very first thing we do when we meet somebody is judge them?

5. Are we really prepared to live our lives in blind misconception?

6. Is not enough that we spent centuries in darkness?

7. What could be the cause of this regressive behaviour? And could it possibly be contagious (affect other parts of our socail lives)??
