products and documentary styles)
Breakfast –
This is one of many types of factual
programming. Breakfast shows are usually aired in the morning from 6am till
12pm. In this type of factual program it includes things like news, latest
weather updates, cooking shows and many more. While having these programs up
they sometimes may have a special twist where they could invite a pop star to
the show for a more exciting event. Examples of breakfast shows are things
like, Good morning Britain or the morning show.
Chat Shows –
Chat shows are another type of
factual programming. This includes the host who is interviewing famous people
such as celebrities. While these interviews take place the host takes their
time to talk about numerous amounts of topics. The celebrities come on to this
show to talk about the new things happening in their life as well as talk about
the things they have achieved in their career.
An example of chat shows is The Ellen show and the one show.
Fly-on-the-wall –
A fly on the wall factual program is
when hidden cameras are kept in places like a home, office, shops and airports.
Famous and non-famous people being recorded in how they act when they are alone
in their own comfort zone, this means actual footage. Examples of fly on the
wall are Nanny 91 and Come fly with me.
Game
Shows –
Game shows are also types of factual programs
they have realistic footage of people famous or not. They are based on a game
show with a host things that happen on the game show are things like solving quizzes,
questions and answers, individual game, group games. The people that take part
in the game will have to play one of the games. Examples of some game shows are
The cube, Million pound drop, Chase, Weakest link and Deal or no deal.
Infotainment
–
Infotainment programs are those types of factual programs that are
entertaining as well as educational. There fun to watch to the audience this
will attract them as it won’t be boring because they would have different emotional
while watching it. The reason why these programs are good is because it will
give the viewer’s something new to know about and will help increase knowledge.
Examples of this type of factual program include Top Gear, deadly 60, Back yard
science.
News
–
News is one of the important types of factual programming as this is the
main social messenger to every human being with a direct cable line into their
living room. This makes people aware about the things that are happening around
the world. The news is local as well as nationwide. The things that be
mentioned in the news are usually about breaking news political issues or the
weather. The news is always unbiased as it is speaking equally for both sides
of an issue never just one side of the story is told. Examples of types of news are BBC news at six, ITV
news, and Midlands today.
Sportscast
–
Sportscast is a factual program that
is based on just sports. This updates the audience only about sports this program
is mostly interested to those who watch only sports. This program gives the
viewers the latest news on certain topics and also gives key information about
the sports. Sometimes they play the clip and have voice overs and talking about
what’s happing in the game. Programs like this are usually played before or
after a game. Examples of a sportscast program are Match of the day.
Docusoap –
Docusoap are the type of factual
program that film every move of a group of people living together. They film
what they do and say within the house they are living in and also where about
they go. This is an entertainment for the audience as they will be witnessing
the fun going on within the house. Examples of a Docusoap are Essex, Made in Chelsea
and Big Brother.
Mockumentary –
Mockumentary is a type of
factual program which is a mockery of a movie or a documentary already made. This
is to entertain people by making fun of the actual documentary. Examples of a Mockumentary
are Keith Lemon’d Lemon La Vida Loca.
